Present simple (I eat, I pray, I love..)

                                                                They're having their lunch.
                                                                They eat a lot.

A. They eat / she prays / I love  etc.    =   the present simple tense:
I//you/they/we       eat  pray  love  work  watch  do  have
        she/he/it        eats  prays  loves  works  watches  does  has

Remember:
She washes / he studies / it rains  etc.
  • I love her. She loves me.  (not  'She love' )
  • Linda lives in Cilegon. Her parents live in Serang.
  • It rains a lot where I live.
I have > she/he/it  has.
  • Linda has rice cake for breakfast.
  • Salman seldom has a bath.

B. We use 'the present simple tense' for things that are true in general or for things that happen occasionally or all the time.
  • The earth goes round the sun.
  • Carpenters make things from wood.
  • Cats catch mice.
  • As an Islamic school girl, Siti studies very hard; she starts at 7 o'clock and finishes at 9. p.m.
  • I like country sides.
  • We have a lot of things in common.
  • It costs a lot of money to live in a big city.

C. usually/ always/ often/ seldom/ sometimes/ never   +   present simple
  • I usually go to work by scooter but sometimes I go on foot.  (not  'I go usually')
  • My teacher always arrives at school early.  (not  'arrives always')
  • We often see a film.
  • My friend seldom works out.
  • It sometimes sounds strange.
  • Isa never eats breakfast
